Do you really use a wireless microphone?

Wireless microphones, also known as wireless microphones, can realize the restoration and expansion of sound. Compared with wired microphones, they are more and more popular among consumers. They are widely used in KTV, audio-visual rooms, conference rooms and other occasions. Perhaps there are still many people who think so today: as long as the device is connected, you can speak. In fact, if you don't understand how it works and the precautions for use, then you won't be able to use a wireless microphone. Below, I Wo audio project to share with you this knowledge.

How the wireless microphone works:
The wireless microphone is mainly composed of a transmitting portion and a receiving portion. The transmitting part is powered by the battery, and the microphone converts the sound into an audio electric signal, and after being processed by the internal circuit, the radio wave containing the audio information is transmitted to the surrounding space. The receiving part is generally powered by the mains, and the receiving wave receives the radio wave emitted by the transmitting part, and is processed by the internal circuit to extract the audio signal, and is sent to the sound reinforcement system through the output signal line, thereby completing the wireless transmission of the audio signal. .

Once you know how it works, let's take a look at the wireless microphone usage precautions.
1, impedance matching
When using a wireless microphone, the output impedance of the wireless microphone is the same as the input impedance of the amplifier. If the mismatch ratio is above 3:1, the transmission effect will be affected. For example, when a 50Ω wireless microphone is connected to an amplifier with an input impedance of 150Ω, although the output can be increased by nearly 7db, the sound of high and low frequencies will be significantly lost.
2. Working distance and near-talk effect
Generally, the working distance between the wireless microphone and the mouth is preferably 750px-1000px. If the distance is too far, the reverberation increases and the noise increases relatively. If the working distance is too close, it will be distorted due to excessive signal, and the low frequency sound will be too heavy to affect the clarity of the language. This is because the directional microphone has a "near-speaking effect", that is, the low-frequency sound is significantly improved when broadcasting at a close distance. However, sometimes the singer intends to use the "near effect" to make the singing effect more beautiful and beautiful.
3. Angle between the sound source and the wireless microphone
Each wireless microphone has its effective angle. The general sound source should be aligned with the center line of the wireless microphone. The larger the angle between the two, the higher the treble loss. Sometimes when using a wireless microphone, it has a "long" sound, and when it is deflected by some angle, it can be lightened.
4, wireless microphone position and height
When amplifying, the wireless microphone should not be placed close to the speaker or aligned with the speaker, otherwise it will cause howling.
The height of the wireless microphone should be determined according to the height of the sound source. If it is a person speaking or a few people singing, the height of the wireless microphone should be consistent with the singer's mouth: when the number of people is large, the wireless microphone should be placed at the average height, and appropriate Match the singer and accompaniment and the position of the various instruments in the team. Don't make the sound loud, light and light, and make all the sounds within the effective angle of the wireless microphone.
The wireless microphone should be protected from knocking or falling during use. It is not advisable to test the microphone by blowing or tapping, otherwise the wireless microphone will be easily damaged.
When using a wireless microphone for outdoor use or recording voice, you should use a windshield to avoid the “click” of the wind. The windshield also prevents dust from contaminating the wireless microphone.
5, remove the battery in time when not in use
Wireless microphones (such as the EK-88) are battery powered. If the voltage drops, the sensitivity is lowered and the distortion is increased. Therefore, when the sound is worse, check the battery voltage. Turn off the power switch when the wireless microphone is not in use. Remove the battery when not in use for a long time.
