We first used some cpu test software to test the level of this i7 6700k under some test software.


We first tested using the fritz chess benchmark. Chess testing is a good test of multi-threaded performance and has also been used in many cpu tests.

The final test result of the Cinebench R15 was 861 points, which exceeded the original 4th generation Core i7 4770k. However, based on the performance of the 4th generation Core i7 4770k, which is about 3.5GHz, this 6700k should not enter the turbo boost mode when running this test. This is related to the size of the notebook and its limited power supply, but this performance is already very strong on the laptop.


The common notebooks used are mid- and low-power type suitable for notebooks. Even if the power consumption is still high, the TDP of 45W is quite different from that of the desktop-level i7 6700k that is 91d tdp. Is there any trouble with its cooling?


We used AIDA 64's FPU test directly to perform a stress test on the CPU.

In the FPU test, the CPU quickly warmed up to more than 90 degrees, and was quickly activated by the i7 6700k 99 degree temperature cap, after which the full temperature was maintained at about 94-96 degrees. At this time, the i7 6700k is not operating at full speed and cannot maintain the standard frequency of 4.0GHz for a long time. During this period, the i7 6700k will be down-converted, and the down-clocking frequency will be around 38x-39x. The performance of the desktop cpu itself is undoubtedly high, but heat dissipation is indeed a big test for the entire notebook. As a whole, the i7 of the human S5 will not show too much attenuation in the future, indicating that it has done a good job in heat dissipation.


Having said CPU, let's talk about game performance. After all, the entire machine is still dominated by games.


For games, we first test it with a 3d mark. The S5 equipped with the GTX 970M is directly set to the recommended fire strike ultra mode for testing in the 3d mark's recommended settings.

The final score of the 3d mark fire strike ultra is about 1663. This score is almost the same as that of the GTX 960 in ultra. From the GTX 970M specification, the spx and bit width of the GTX 970M are better than that of the desktop GTX 960, but The frequency of the hind legs made it slightly weaker.


Next, let's try the game. There is no special large-scale game recently. Therefore, we have previously released a stand-alone game with a high demand for pictures.


Most of the games are still our years: Call of Duty 12, radiation 4, alloy equipment 5.

The frame rate is relatively stable, and radiation 4 is basically not a problem if the entire experience is to be completed.

In terms of temperature control, the suppression of the i7 6700k by the four heat pipes is also more than sufficient. Although limited by the size of the notebook, a slight down-clocking phenomenon still occurs. However, it is possible to open 6700k to 4GHz. This ability is strong enough.


After all, notebooks equipped with desktop CPUs will still be niche, but there are always smaller niche players. You want to pursue endless performance presses, or you are a good potential user.
