LG Display's 55-inch OLED TV panel features ultra-high image quality, a high contrast ratio of over 100,000:1, a wider color gamut, no afterimages, and no special light sources. At the same time using a minimalist structure thinner than a 5 mm pen, lighter than the LCD panel. In addition, LG Display also adopted white OLED (WOLED) technology with an oxide backplane, which makes OLED technology more cost-effective in the application of large-size panels. At the same time, Samsung's new 55-inch Super OLED TV also appeared in CES, and this TV supports full HD and 3D.

Although the two products of LG and Samsung appear to be close to being productized, OLED technology has always faced the problems of large-size manufacturing difficulties and short product life. Sony's Crystal LED Display products solved this problem. Crystal LED Display, also known as the inorganic version of OLED, is Sony's next-generation self-luminous display technology. Compared with OLEDs, the display characteristics of the two are basically the same, but the reliability of the Crystal LED Display is higher, the display life is longer, and as the display size increases, the manufacturing cost is also more economical. Due to its self-luminous properties, Crystal LED Display's darker picture is deeper than LCD TVs, and its screen brightness is higher than that of plasma, enabling excellent display even in bright ambient light. At the same time, because each pixel is composed of RGB tri-color LEDs, the individual control makes it have a wide color gamut, and currently reaches 100% NTSC color gamut (only about 72% of ordinary LCD TVs). When viewing a 3D presentation, Crystal LED Display can achieve a more natural and beautiful three-dimensional picture due to its high brightness and fast refresh rate, and the advantages are even more obvious.

Based on light-emitting diode technology, whether it is OLED, or its new rival Crystal LED Display, the resulting 3D picture is superior to the current 3D TV in brightness, contrast and dynamic resolution.

4K set a new benchmark for high-definition

Mentioned the resolution of the display, perhaps the consumer still stays at the stage that upgrades from 720P standard definition to 1080P high definition. The number of display pixels for each color is 2,070,600, and the RGB pixel arrangement adopts the usual strip arrangement. Sony said that as an LED display, achieving 55-inch full HD is "the first time in the industry."

The display performance of this new product is even better than the LCD panel: the brightness is about 400cd/m2, the contrast in the dark environment is above the measurement limit, the color performance range is more than 100% according to the NTSC specification, and the viewing angle is about 180 degrees. .
