According to a foreign website QZ Beijing time on April 20th, Facebook has been committed to providing Internet for regions without a network in the world, presumably this may be to let more people use Facebook.
To achieve this goal, Facebook is testing a small helicopter drone and briefly demonstrated the product at the company's F8 conference today.
The drone, called Tether-tenna, is still in the research and development phase and can theoretically help people in the affected areas. The concept is relatively simple: the machine is equipped with a fiber-optic cable that can be connected to a fixed-line network and then send a network signal to the first responders in the disaster or anyone in need via radio waves.
The drone is essentially equivalent to a signal amplifier, which is roughly the same as the home WiFi extender, but at a much larger scale. Facebook said in a blog post that the drone "can ensure that the local community maintains a network connection when repairing underground communication cables."
Facebook's previous connectivity initiatives include Free Basics, which provides free Internet access over cellular networks, but with limited content. In addition, Facebook is also testing Aquila, a large solar powered drone that uses the laser to send the Internet to people who have no other network options. However, Free Basics has failed in many developing countries, and Aquila is still in its very early stages. As for Tether-tenna, it is still unknown whether this small helicopter will perform better.
Single-phase current and voltage transducers are mainly used to isolate the measured
current and voltage signals and output one or two analog signals or digital signals.
