I am very happy to have this opportunity to share with you some of the solutions of Samsung Semiconductor Exynos Soc in VR. Samsung Semiconductor should have heard of it, but because Samsung's business is more extensive, everyone should contact Samsung's mobile phone at most. As the core department of Samsung Electronics, Samsung Semiconductor is still in the leading position in the industry. This can be reflected in the sales of memory. Samsung’s sales have been ranked second in the past decade, second only to Intel.
From a business perspective, Samsung Semiconductor's most advantageous memory is memory, including various memory cards and current SSDs; but in addition, what we call "System LSI" in the non-storage field is also leading in the industry. Representative products include application processors (such as Samsung 7460), CMOS Image Sensor, and the like.
The most unique advantage of Samsung Semiconductor is its process technology. It has the world's first 14nm FinFET LP process chip, which is successfully mass-produced. It has its own Foundry guarantee process and flow capacity, and can also be used for foundry. Last year, Samsung’s total sales have exceeded $40 billion, and its growth rate is not bad.
Unlike other semiconductor manufacturers in the industry, Samsung Semiconductor offers a one-stop chip supply and solution. For the Smartphone we can provide a good processor, memory and so on.
Now we are in the mobile Internet/IoT era. In addition to smart phones and smart watches, "Smart" also includes medical wearable devices, smart homes, driverless cars, etc. At this time, chip development and one-stop operation Solutions, building ecosystems, etc. are all very important. Today we will discuss the current VR field as an example.
