Vishay Announces New 5050 Form Factor Automotive Grade IHLP Inductors

Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the launch of a new automotive-grade IHLP® thin-profile, high-current 5050 form factor inductor, the IHLP-5050FD-8A, which operates continuously at +180°C in the engine compartment. . The Vishay Dale IHLP-5050FD-8A has a height of 6.4 mm and an inductance value from 0.22 μH to 22 μH.


The performance of this inductor introduced today exceeds the requirements of the AEC-Q200. It can be used as a storage inductor in a DC/DC converter with a frequency of up to 2MHz. When used in a filter, the frequency can reach the natural frequency of the inductor. High performance for DC/DC conversion and high current noise filtering in high temperature automotive systems, saving space and energy. Applications include engine and transmission control units, fuel injection drives, motor noise suppression, wipers, HID and led lighting , heating and ventilation, and other applications that require operation at high temperatures.
The IHLP-5050FD-8A can handle high transient current spikes without hard saturation. The device is packaged in a 100% lead-free shielded composite structure that reduces buzzer noise to ultra-low levels, with a specified operating temperature range of -55°C to +180°C for thermal shock, humidity, mechanical shock and Vibration has a strong resistance. The inductors are RoHS and Vishay green and halogen free.
