Apple Executive Compensation Exposure

A document submitted by Apple to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) shows that CEO Tim Cook’s compensation this year has increased by 1.9% from the same period last year to $4.25 million.

The document shows that as of September this year, Cook's compensation includes 1.4 million annual salary and 2.8 million US dollars of non-equity incentives. Since the sales and operating profit goals set by the company's compensation committee have been completed, each executive can receive a basic salary of 200% according to the incentive plan.

As an Apple CFO, Oppenheimer’s salary this year was 2.63 million U.S. dollars, of which the salary was 8.661061 million U.S. dollars and the bonus was 1.75 million U.S. dollars. Last year he received $68.6 million in compensation, including $66.2 million in stock awards.

Eddie Ku, the senior vice president of iTunes business, received a salary of 2.65 million U.S. dollars this year, which was 50.4 million U.S. dollars last year. Williams, senior vice president of supply chain management at Apple, paid 2.63 million U.S. dollars this year and 68.7 million U.S. dollars last year.

Apple's stock price rose 5.3% this year, while the S & P 500 index rose 29%. In October of this year, Apple announced its earnings forecast, saying that the current quarter's gross profit margin will be lower than analysts' expectations and forecast that sales will only maintain single-digit growth, which will be the smallest increase since the 2008 holiday season.

It is worth mentioning that Apple also stated in this document that the shareholder vote rejected the proposal submitted by investor Carl Icahn, that is, the company should spend at least $50 billion to buy back stocks in fiscal year 2014. Icahnyo owns 0.5% of Apple Inc. Since August of this year, this activist investor has been urging Apple to increase the scale of stock repurchases.
