On January 12th, the China National Institute of Standardization organized a kick-off meeting to study and formulate a roadmap for the phase-out of incandescent lamps in China. The main content of the project is to provide policy and theoretical support for the elimination of inefficient lighting products by delineating a clear roadmap for the phase-out of incandescent lamps.
According to reports, China is the world's largest producer of lighting appliances, with production and sales ranking first in the world, and the proportion of incandescent lamps with high energy consumption in lighting products is relatively high. According to the evaluation report on the implementation effect of China's green lighting project, during the “Ninth Five-Year Plan†period, China has promoted more than 1.4 billion high-efficiency lighting appliances, achieving a power saving of 25.7 billion kWh in lighting terminals, which can avoid an installed capacity of 4.8 million kilowatts, equivalent to reducing power investment. More than 40 billion yuan. The phasing out of incandescent lamps and replacing them with energy-saving lamps will generate huge social and economic benefits, and is an important way to achieve energy-saving and emission reduction targets.
It is understood that the elimination of incandescent lamps and the promotion of energy-saving lamps are one of the important measures for energy conservation and emission reduction in various countries. Since 2007, countries such as Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland and France have introduced policies and corresponding roadmaps for eliminating incandescent lamps. The development of a road map for the phase-out of incandescent lamps and a timetable for phase-out has become an urgent problem in China.
According to reports, the basic content of the project includes the policy formulation and practical research on the elimination of incandescent lamps in the world, and the development and communication of the roadmap for eliminating incandescent lamps in China and the results of the project. It is expected that by June next year, a series of research reports will be formed and roadmaps and policy recommendations will be proposed.
