Onna Releases New LiDAR Specialist Market for Autopilot Operational Applications

On September 7, 2017, leading high-tech company Oona Technologies (Group) Co., Ltd. (stock code: 877) released a new generation of price-competitive photo radar (“LiDAR”) products “PANDA” to Shenzhen market. A new pulsed fiber laser source product platform for the manufacture of 1550 nm LiDAR lidar systems for autopilot applications, 3D scanning and remote sensing.

Several industry experts, business leaders, and representatives of leading global technology and automotive companies all attended the PANDA release ceremony today.

Mr. Naqing Lin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Onna said at the ceremony: “We are very excited to present the new generation of price-competitive PANDA products to the market for the first time, which will open a new chapter in the history of the development of Onna's LiDAR products. With the Group's vertically integrated operational structure and expertise, we are confident that we will support a variety of LiDAR applications and manufacture more LiDAR products that are more compact, more cost-competitive, and capable of large-scale production. We are poised for rapid growth. The main supplier of LiDAR technology in the advanced assisted driving system (ADAS) market. We will also continue to innovate and integrate key components in terms of volume and cost optimization of LiDAR products, while providing high reliability products while also meeting customer expectations The performance and price.

Mr. Naganna Nakao Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Introduces PANDA's Features

PANDA is a new pulsed fiber laser for LiDAR applications. Based on the principle of 1550 nm fiber lasers, PANDA improves 3D image resolution, detection distance, human eye safety, product power consumption, and cost effectiveness. This truly meets the key requirements of Level 5 autonomous vehicle sensing systems. The PANDA 1550 nm fiber laser not only overcomes some of the shortcomings of the current LiDAR system performance of the 905 nm semiconductor laser technology. The PANDA is more reliable and robust, and is able to withstand the various weather conditions that autopilot vehicles have the opportunity to face. The PANDA module measures only 225px x 225px x75px and weighs less than 400g, surpassing the most demanding operational requirements of autopilot, remote sensing and 3D scanning.

Mr. Na’s summary: “The customer certification process for PANDA has been completed. It is currently in mass production. Several hundred PANDA products will be installed in self-driving cars equipped with standard LiDAR systems this year. With the increase, we will expand production in 2018 and in the future. We are confident that PANDA will become one of the major growth drivers of the Group in the future. We will also continue to develop cost-effective LiDAR products to meet the global demand.
