Cypress Semiconductor announced that PC Peripheral and component manufacturer Taiwan Lite-On Technology Corporation has adopted Cypress 2.4-GHz WirelessUSB-NL radio single chip to develop a new generation of wireless keyboards and mice. WirelessUSB-NL's low power consumption feature requires only two AA batteries to provide up to three years of battery life for the mouse and keyboard. The long-distance feature of WirelessUSB-NL can also support a wireless mouse and keyboard up to 30 meters of operating range. Lite-On also uses Cypress enCoRe â„¢ II and enCoRe V low-voltage auxiliary microcontrollers, which are respectively used in USB dongle and mouse / keyboard.
WirelessUSB-NL has an excellent -87 dBm receive sensitivity and can support a longer range of operation. The current for operation and standby of this device is very low (less than 1uA), and has a closed loop radio architecture, which can minimize the drift of the signal frequency and bring solid and stable radio performance. Like other Cypress WirelessUSB products, WirelessUSB-NL can still provide excellent performance even under common 2.4 GHz interference sources such as WiFi, Bluetooth, wireless phones, and microwave ovens.
