On December 2, 2015, Dalian United Holdings, a leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that the United Nations Alliance Group has launched ST-based L9942 follow-up headlights (AdapTIve Front-LighTIng System) , referred to as AFS) solution.
Figure 1 - Schematic diagram of the AFS system of the companyFollow-up headlights, which are called auto-adaptive headlight systems or smart headlight systems, can continuously adjust the headlights according to the steering wheel angle, vehicle yaw rate and driving speed. The steering angle keeps the direction of the light in line with the current direction of the car to ensure optimal illumination of the road ahead and to provide the driver with the best visibility, which significantly enhances the safety of driving in the dark. In the road conditions with poor road lighting or multiple corners, the driver's field of vision is enlarged, and the other party can be reminded to come in advance.

It is also an active safety system that is closely related to driving safety. Many mid- to high-end cars are equipped with AFS systems, such as: BMW 530Li, Mercedes-Benz. E-class cars and Citroen Triumph, etc., and become one of its selling points.
