Toshiba launches new white LED with luminous flux of 60 lumens

Toshiba has announced the launch of a new generation of white LEDs, the TL10W02-D. The product can be used for home or office lighting, interior lighting for store decoration, and backlighting for liquid crystal displays (LCDs).

By improving diode chip placement technology, improved heat dissipation, and a lower heat-resistant package, the TL10W02-D achieves a luminous flux of 60 lumens at 500mA (2W) drive current. The optimized design of the internal reflective structure also enhances the efficiency of light illumination.

Toshiba is expected to begin delivery of samples of TL10W02-D white LEDs in July and begin mass production in October with a preliminary monthly production of 1 million units.

In addition to the TL10W02-D, Toshiba also released a 30-lumen TL10W01-D, which is expected to begin mass production in July. Both new LEDs are available in a compact package measuring 10.5 x width 5.0 x height 2.1 mm and are suitable for lead-free reflow soldering.

The positive active material is mainly made of nickel, and the negative active material is mainly an alkaline battery made of hydrogen storage alloy.Nickel-metal hydride (nimh) batteries are modified from nickel-cadmium (nicd) batteries, which offer higher capacitance, less obvious memory effects, and lower environmental pollution at the same price.The special charger can be used for quick charging in one hour. The self-discharge characteristic is better than nickel-cadmium battery, which can be retained for a longer time after charging and can be repeated for more than 500 times.

The charger adopts high frequency switching rectifier power-supply module. The working process of the charger is controlled by microprocessor in real-time, automatic power on/off, simple operation, safe and reliable. The user can view the operation parameters and working status through the touch screen.
